4 money saving grocery store tips

#1 Pair up with a pal to share costs . One of my flat mates and I picked out menus and snacks together and purchased ingredients together.

#2 Ask about store rewards.  By signing up for store reward card, not only did we save nearly £10 (about $17 US), every time we shop we get a free tea, coffee or latte, and a free news paper!

#3 Ask store employees for tips. Store employees stocking shelves were more than wiling to check prices for us and give us tips including which newspaper they think is rubbish and which paper is worthy.

#4 Look for 2/for deals. We saved alot looking for stickers..we saw same product with sticker priced higher!

Day 1 in London

Day one in London! I arrived this morning at 0630. Met up with another girl in my program at  Heathrow Airport and we adventured onto the Study Center. I must say that we had an interesting ride over---  Our hired driver weaved in and out of lanes, almost wiping out several vehicles, bicycles and motorcycles and a bus! Whew that was a wake up call. We did a little exploring in the area and checked out the Africa Exhibit in the British Museum while we waited for the rest of our group to arrive throughout the day. Later in the afternoon, we checked into our flat. There are five of us in a apartment flat - we share two bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen and common area. Pictures coming soon. Some of my new friends and I grabbed some dinner at a place called Pret A Manger- they make everything fresh every day from scratch such as cold and hot deli sandwiches, sushi, fresh fruit cups, chips and desserts and drinks . The restaurant is self served with a refrigerated/ warming area.  I had a chicken salad Caesar bacon with soft cheese  on some kind of yummy focaccia type bread. We learned that if you eat at the restaurant they charge you more than if you sit down and eat, for each item purchased! That could really put a dent in a girl's pocketbook! Well this girl is running on 35 hours with out sleep... so pictures will be coming soon!

It was a fun surprise to stand on the dock tonight and welcome my brother as he pulled into the marina, after his 1132 nautical mile solo race from Port Huron to Mackinac to Chicago and back to Port Huron! Way to go Joey!
